As spring approaches, pollen levels increase, fleas are reproducing and and our companion animals are out frolicking, there’s a reasonable chance if your pet is prone to allergies that you’ll see some scratching and ensuing “hot spots.”

What is a “hot spot?” It a loosely used term to describe an area of inflammation where a companion animal has been scratching or is having an inflammatory reaction in the skin.

Everything from allergies and fleas to infected scratches and more can result in a hot spot or several areas of inflammation and discomfort.

At Urban Animal we work with your pet, your pet’s lifestyle and history to try and figure out the underlying cause of the skin issue and resolve it, not just for a season but all your round.

If you pet has an itch they need to scratch, call us and schedule an appointment!
