Dr. Madeline Brister
A native Houstonian, Dr. Madeline Brister joined Urban Animal Veterinary Hospital in August 2026 and is passionate about providing thoughtful, individualized care to pets and the people who love them.
Dr. Brister earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University, before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree Magna Cum Laude from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.
Her clinical interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and preventive care. She especially enjoys the opportunity to solve problems alongside pet owners, helping them understand their pet’s health and feel confident in the decisions they make together. Dr. Brister values building lasting relationships with her clients and getting to know each pet as an individual, from routine wellness visits through the more complex moments that arise throughout their lives.
For Dr. Brister, great veterinary care is about more than treating a condition. It’s about listening carefully, communicating openly, and creating a care plan that makes sense for both the pet and the family.
As part of Urban Animal’s next chapter, Dr. Brister is excited to help build a hospital where clients feel known, questions are welcomed, and every pet receives thoughtful, personalized care.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Brister enjoys competing in hunter/jumper events, running, and spending time with family. She lives with her husband, Ryan, and her horse, Bowman, is her pride and joy.
