How Do Pet Exams Help to Prevent Disease?

A nose-to-tail physical exam gives us a general impression of your pet’s current health. Therefore, we can look for outward signs of illness or injury and offer recommendations based on our findings. If a physical exam prompts more questions than answers, we may need to go further and utilize our lab and/or imaging equipment for more in-depth study. Being able to detect and diagnose a problem early on may help us treat it more quickly and effectively.

Common Parasites to Watch Out For

Parasites are generally quite tiny, making them easy to miss, but the problems they can cause for our pets are usually much more obvious. Parasites can be a threat all year round. For example, fleas, ticks and mosquitoes go dormant under certain conditions and become active when it’s warmer. Other parasites to be aware of include:
