The staff at Urban Animal Vet Hospital saved my cats life. He had been attacked by two loose dogs and was in shock, crying out in pain and weak. I had never even known about this place and only arrived there by accident.
I found the two dogs tearing my cat Dharma up in my yard and had been fighting them off with a broom handle. We were both in shock and traumatized by the time I got him free and got him in the car. I was so unstable that I could not remember the address of my current vet who had just changed locations. I put it in the gps and took off, still crying and shaking with my poor kitty screaming in pain in the back.
I have no idea why the gps took me to Urban Animals instead, but I can only say that some guardian angel must have been looking out for us. By the time I pulled into their parking lot, it didn't matter where we were, I just needed help. I barged in saying I have an emergency, please help. They dropped everything and went into Triage mode. It was the most professional performance I have ever seen at a vets office.
The staff immediately took Dharma in and started an iv, gave him pain meds to comfort him, and began triage procedures giving me all the information I needed along the way to make important decisions about his treatment, It was pretty amazing. They were kind and caring with me and him throughout the whole ordeal.
They had him stabilized quickly, on Oxygen, and X-rayed. They were able to give me a good diagnosis quickly and had solid guidelines for treatment, while giving me leeway to make my own decisions.
The charges were reasonable. Especially considering the state of the art equipment and the in house service that they provide. I did not have to be sent away for X-rays, or pain management. I felt really lucky to have wandered into their office that day.
They went above and beyond with the service, checking in with my normal vet, and finding a 24/7 hospital if I chose to keep him under observation. They were considerate with my budget, and helped make this horrible incident as painless as possible. I will forever be grateful to the entire staff. Thank you all.
My cat is at home and purring now thanks to your quick action and emergency room knowledge.

First visit. I left the vet feeling heard and feel my baby was well taken care of. The staff was very friendly from the receptionist, to the tech, and finally to the amazing doctor. This is an awesome team and I look forward to continuing to come here and bringing my others pets here. Thanks again!

So glad I found this place. They were open late and saw my sick pup Morty when he had been vomiting for 2 days. The entire staff and vet were great and really kind. He got fluids and something to stop the vomiting. The vet ran some tests and explained how people food can hurt his pancreas. They even emailed me information about this and the vet called the next day to follow up and recommended a special food for him. Now Morty is doing great and back to himself. I'm so grateful I found this place and they made time to fit him in at night. Definitely recommend!

I have used several vets in the Heights area and decided that Dr. Granson and Urban Animal are the best for my two babies.
The kindness, attention to detail, thorough explanation, and follow up of care and treatment are outstanding.

Forgive me for the Novella but this one hit me in the heart this weekend.
My husband and I picked up our 120 lb Cane Corso late in the afternoon returning from a trip. This was Friday and when he got home and away from the action at the K9 Resort he faded quickly. We assumed he was tired from the heat and action at boarding.
The next morning we woke up to hime coughing so hard he was gagging on himself, pushing anything up and out of his stomach. His condition worsened by the hour so right away we called Dr. Granson's clinic (Urban Vet). This was a Saturday and completely booked but I was promptly called back and asked if we could be there and they'd do their best to work us in.
Parking lot was a zoo, they were serious about being fully booked.
They were genuinely concerned about all symptoms prior to making a diagnosis. Very clear explanation of what medications, why they were appropriate and how the work. Willingness to answer complex questions and disseminate the information in a way that we left with confidence in efficacy of the treatment plan. VERY reasonable pricing, especially considering this was an unscheduled emergency on a weekend. Support staff was amazing, patient and they set a calm tone to the room.
I read a couple of derogatory reviews of this clinic and was less than impressed. Comments about the expense at the clinic and the competency of the Veterinarian. All I can say to that is Dr. Hilary Granson is an Ivy Leaguer from an institution whose Vet program has been consistently rated top 5 in the world and #1 in the USA, and she never mentions that part.
She doesn't need your money and you will not find a vet with more competency and care.
We have family that just spent ~$7k on their 2 dogs over a blockage that passed on its own and a snake bite. Our bill was maybe 5% of that & that included medication, education, and love & care.
